Welcome to the Estate Planning & Fiduciary Law Section
Welcome to the Web site for the Estate Planning and Fiduciary Law Section. The Section celebrated its 25th year in 2004. The Technology Committee has worked hard to bring you a Web site that will be useful to you in your practice. All comments and suggests are welcome. The Estate Planning and Fiduciary Law Section offers members the opportunity to network not only with other estate planning attorneys, but also other professionals who are involved in the estate planning process such as bankers, financial institutions, Clerks of Court and CPAs. Our Section has a "Joint Statement of Principles" with banks and financial institutions, works to resolve differences with CPAs who are engaging in "legal" transactions and publishes the Estate Administration Manual.
Committees: CLE, Estate Administration Manual, Ethics, Legislative, Membership, Newsletter, Nominations, Paralegals Division, Pro Bono, Public Relations and Eduction, Technology. As well as, joint Committees with NCACPA, Banker's Association, and NC Clerk's of Court. Click HERE to join a committee.
NC Casemaker
"NC Casemaker" contains a link to the Casemaker online legal research library and information on how to use this valuable free member service, which provides access to state and federal materials including the NC Pattern Jury Instructions, NC Supreme Court Opinions, NC Statutes, NC Court of Appeals Opinions, NC Attorney General Opinions, US Supreme Court Opinions, US Code of Federal Regulations, all Federal Circuit Court Opinions, and Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure.

Governance
"Governance" contains the section's governing documents including the purpose statement and bylaws when available.

Leadership
"Leadership" contains information from the section's leadership including the section officers, section council, committee chairs, and meeting minutes when available.

"Join the Section" contains an online application form for joining this section.

Continuing Legal Education
"CLE" contains section-specific Continuing Legal Education (CLE) information including upcoming programs and publications when available.

LISTSERV
"LISTSERV" contains information on how to use the section's LISTSERV including the user agreement, frequently asked questions, and tips and etiquette, as well as a link to the section's LISTSERV archive. NOTE: Participation in the LISTSERV is optional and only available to section members. The LISTSERV mailing system and archives are also hosted by another company, which requires you to log in to access the archives, etc.

Newsletters
"Newsletters" contains the section's newsletters, which may be password-protected as determined by the section leadership.

Estate Planning Forums
"Estate Planning Forums" contains 3 types of web-based discussion forums for (1) section/division members only, (2) NCBA members only, OR (3) Open Forums where anyone can view them, however only section/division members can add threads or comments. It also provides access to the NCBA Forums, a centralized communication tool for each of the NCBA's 28 sections and 4 divisions, and other areas of interest to legal professionals.

I am new to the EP practice area and would like to obtain a copy of the BB&T Estate Planning Forms Manual. I believe the most recent edition is 2006 and that the cost is in the $350-400 range. (Let me know if I'm wrong or if an update is imminent.)...
